What to Expect at Your Physical Therapy Appointment
Starting physical therapy is an important step toward moving better, reducing pain, and getting back to the activities you enjoy. We strive to make every visit comfortable, personalized, and focused on your goals.
Your First Visit
Your initial evaluation typically lasts 45–60 minutes. During this appointment, your physical therapist will discuss your medical history, evaluate your movement, and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.
Follow-up appointments are usually about one hour, with most patients attending 1–3 visits per week for 4–8 weeks, depending on their condition and goals.
Your Role in Recovery
Successful outcomes are built on teamwork. We encourage you to:
Actively participate during your therapy sessions.
Complete your prescribed Home Exercise Program (HEP).
Stay active between visits whenever appropriate.
Your commitment plays a key role in achieving the goals that matter most to you.
Preparing for Your Appointment
For your first visit, please bring:
A valid photo ID
Your current insurance card
A physician referral if you have one (not required)
Wear comfortable clothing that allows access to the area being treated. If you're being seen for a lower extremity injury, please wear supportive shoes.
To save time, complete your patient intake forms before your appointment, or arrive 10–15 minutes early to fill them out. At every visit, check in with our front desk and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee while you wait.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours' notice. Appointments canceled with less than 24 hours' notice or missed without notice may be subject to a $25 cancellation fee after the third occurrence.
We understand emergencies happen—if you're unable to attend your appointment, simply contact us as soon as possible.
